About Me.

As  your executive advisor and coach, Chris brings over 25 years in executive leadership roles  building teams, creating strategies and driving execution.  A banker for nine years who then transitioned to finance and general management leadership roles in healthcare, Chris’ record is one of delivering strong growth, both organic and through acquisition. He brings a deep understanding of public policy and the challenges of operating in regulated environments.   He is actively engaged in board roles.


Chris is a California native where he and his wife raised two children.  Chris is an avid outdoorsman.


Resume Highlights

  • As senior general manager, drove growth and expansion of Kaiser Permanente regions outside of California relying on influence leadership skills, talent development, and a relentless focus on performance

  • As division Chief Executive, took largest and deeply troubled business at Blue Shield of California to rapid volume growth with nearly threeX earnings in three years

  • As President and CEO of health plan trade association, was industry voice for Governor Schwarzenegger’s drive to provide health coverage for all Californians.  Rebuilt trade association with multiple growing revenue streams and exceptional talent

  • Built from scratch a financial consulting practice which focused on strong fiscal management of capitation and growth for medical groups in California

  • As Chief Financial Officer, established fiscal discipline, and helped grow rapidly a large multi-specialty medical group in Southern California

  • As finance and operations executive for rapidly growing California HMO, supported growth, raised debt and public equity, and supported multiple acquisitions and divestitures

  • As a banker with Chase, led and participated in a host of mergers and acquisitions, and financing

  • Hold degrees in public policy from Princeton and economics from Lewis and Clark College

  • Years of continuous board engagement on business and community boards 

  • Actively engaged in teaching and writing, including teaching at the Haas Business School, and getting published in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and other publications

  • As a ski instructor at Big Sky Resort in Montana, Chris combines his passion for skiing with his passion for teaching and coaching.
